A Chinese Camp was exceptionally held for 20 Vietnamese teachers from ten universities and 28 outstanding students from universities and high schools over a period of two weeks. 3 Vietnamese language experts invited by the MOE also hosted the Taiwan-Vietnam Language Exchange Workshop held in Wenzao to share their experience in Vietnamese teaching and teacher education. Interactions between them and Gangshan Community University as well as TransAsia Sisters Association were accomplished. This official invitation led to an initial and bilateral collaboration in Vietnamese teaching/learning between Taiwan and Vietnam.

A joint-opening ceremony was held on the morning of Aug. 3. Distinguished guests and school representative were present; there were Ms. Fan Sun-Lu, Director General of Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government; Mr. Aaron Chen, Deputy Counselor of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. 武國鑽, Director of Education and Culture Division of Vietnam Economic and Cultural office in Taipei; Ms. Chen. Hwei-Mei, CEO of Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan; and Tsai Ching-Hwa, Ph.D., Vice President for Development of Wenzao.

Summer programs for Vietnamese teachers learning Chinese at Wenzao have been carried out annually since 2006; this assignment of the MOE resulted in a tight link between Vietnam and Taiwan for frequent economic and cultural exchanges. According to the statistics, there were 122 participants in total till this year, which is an outstanding achievement. In March 2015 an educational collaboration agreement between Vietnam & Taiwan was signed; its purpose is to progress the collaboration in Chinese language teaching, Chinese language certifications, degree approval and exchange in teacher education etc. The Taiwan-Vietnam Language Exchange Workshops were hosted by 3 Vietnamese language experts invited by the MOE and held in Fu Jen Catholic University, Taipei and Wenzao Ursuline University, Kaohsiung, respectively. They also attended the courses of Chinese characters teaching, understanding of Chinese society and culture, cross-culture study and shared their teaching experiences with other participants.

Beyond learning, Vietnamese teachers and students also visited the promotion institutions for Chinese and Vietnamese teaching, such as Chinese Language Center of National Sun Yat-sen University and Educational Department of United Daily News Group in order to enhance mutual communication. Cultural tours in southern Taiwan were also arranged; they have been to Buddha Memorial Center, Tainan Confucius Temple and National Museum of Taiwan History. It is hoped that a profound understanding of Taiwanese history and culture can be kept in mind.
