     April 22nd is Earth Day! For sustainable development, environmental protection and conservation have become a significant focus not only on campus but worldwide. President Chou signed a declaration of Environmental Policy to encourage all faculty, staff and students to live a low-carbon life so as to conduct concrete action to protect the Earth.
     The content of this declaration includes having knowledge, attitude and responsibility in regard to environmental protection; encouraging all faculty, staff and students to live a simple life and conserve resources. The implementation of energy saving and carbon reduction is a global trend and the latest environmental protection laws and design criteria are introduced to plan and construct school facilities. Promotion and professional consulting will be provided so that the environmental policy and related information can be conveyed. It is hoped that a modern campus can be built and more people influenced by environmental conservation can be accomplished.
      Furthermore, as a global citizen, Wenzao also signed declarations of “Reduction of Greenhouse Gas” and “ESH Policy” at the beginning of Feb. to fulfill the responsibility of environmental education. It is planned that 1% of greenhouse gas emission should be achieved on campus and the ESH quality, as well as a safe, healthy and comfortable learning environment, shall be realized in order to construct a green and sustainable school.
