12/22/2014.Wenzao Partners with USSH-VNU, Hanoi to Host Taiwan-Vietnam Higher Education Forum

Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages and University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, Hanoi (USSH-VNU, Hanoi) are hosting a Taiwan-Vietnam Education Forum in March 2015. On November 23, Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Rector of USSH-VNU, Hanoi led his delegation, including the Director of the International Affairs and Programs, Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, and the staff, Mr. Vu Minh Hai, to visit Wenzao for strengthening academic collaboration.
Wenzao and USSH-VNU, Hanoi proposed “How to Cultivate International Talents” as the theme for next year’s Forum and Educational Fair by collaborating with the local corporate companies. On November 25 Dr. Kit Lam, the Dean of the Office of International and Cross-strait Cooperation (OICC) of Wenzao, accompanied the delegation of the USSH-VNU, Hanoi to visit the political deputy Minister of Education, Lucia Lin and the Director of General of International and Cross-strait Education, Ministry of Education, Dr. Min-ling Yang, for the discussion of next year’s educational forum.
In August, 2014, as Wenzao is committed to promote Chinese and Vietnamese language education, an agreement was signed between Wenzao and USSH-VNU, Hanoi, the renowned university in Vietnam, to establish the Taiwan Education Center by offering Chinese courses and Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL). More than 400 Vietnamese students have taken the test. Because of the effectiveness of the Taiwan Education Center, Wenzao and USSH-VNU, Hanoi were authorized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan and Vietnam for the 2015 Taiwan-Vietnam Higher Education Forum and Educational Fair.
In addition to a jointed discussion of the next year’s forum, the delegation of USSH-VNU, Hanoi and Wenzao discussed with each other about any possible forms of academic collaborations, including student exchange and international research and conferences. Both also agreed to host an international academic conference by the end of next year to strengthen the academic collaboration.
